The Best Seven Layer Dip
The Best Seven layer dip.
Yes, you read that correctly. No, I am not exaggerating- if you are looking for a life changing chips & dip recipe- this is the best seven layer dip recipe that you will ever make. Promise.
I’ve had a lot of chips and dip in my life, and because of this, some people (me) might consider me an expert on the matter. (I am) Which is why I can tell you that this recipe is the absolute, hands down, best. (It is.)
This seven layer dip is easy to assemble and the magic comes from the pan that you serve it in.
No more scooping one layer at a time and missing out on the majority of the ingredients on your chip.
No more will you have a bite of onion only, or cheese only, or bean only.
Everything is evenly dispersed, easy for scooping, and tastes delicious.
This is a perfect recipe to bring to events, to set out when you are hosting, or honestly, any night of the week is the perfect excuse to mix up a delicious margarita and some dip for your chips.
Set this out on your next Taco Tuesday and thank me later.
(If you eat this all by yourself, it’s okay, no one here is judging you. This is a safe seven layer dip space)
(PS, if you don’t eat it all at once, you can easily cover this recipe with foil or saran wrap and save it in the fridge for later. It keeps really well!)
Ingredients for seven layer dip:
- Chips (obviously)

Holy yum! If I hadn't just made my run to the store, Ingredients to make this would have been on my list. Lol
Aw bummer! Go back! haha
I make this almost exactly, except I mix cream cheese with the sour cream & taco seasoning! Cream cheese makes everything better 😉 And much more unhealthy.
Oooh man, and I bet the cream cheese adds a bit of sweetness to it. YUM.
Well. I'll be making this soon. Getting the fat pants ready in advance 😉
Ha! Good call! I still need mine 😉
mouth. watering. i want some RIGHT NOW.
I'm such a salty snack kind of girl, so yeah, me too.

AAAAAAND….AMEN. xx
This looks really good and simple to make. My husband is obviously a football fan, so he’ll occasionally invite some of his friends over and I tend to find myself going through Pinterest for easy appetizer ideas. This is awesome. Love it. Thanks!

Oh, isn’t it crazy how you can make a man happy with food. Guess what hubby’s having this weekend?!? … Seven Layer Dip!
Oh yay!!! Let me know how you guys like it!!!
I’d leave put the processed bean dip and make as natural as possible. Use organic ground beef or make bead dip from organic pinto beans. Just use your food processor and add some jalapenos for some heat since your using one hot bean dip.
Adding fresh jalapenos is a great idea! I should try that too!
Can you tell me what size cookie sheet you used? Thanks. Can’t wait to try it!
Mine is a half sheet pan! So, 18×13? The main point is to put it in something that you can spread pretty thinly, so you can easily get ALL of the layers onto your chips. Hope that helps!
What temp and how long do you cook? Or do you?
Do you bake this?
What are your thoughts on melting the cheese? Or best not to? Thanks, excited to make this!
We serve it cold! Hope you love it, Jessica!
I just made this for football watching later today! It looks delicious! The only difference made from your recipe was I added black olives. Also, it looks lovely on my decorative oblong platter!
Pam, that’s a great idea!! We’ll have to add black olives next time too!
