Oh TWOdles Birthday Party!
This past weekend we had SO much fun celebrating our sweet Mabel turning TWO years old with an adorable Oh Twodles Birthday Party, just for her!
If you’re looking for a birthday party theme that works for boys or girls, check out this post for Oh TWOdles birthday party ideas! You can opt for classic red & black Mickey and Minnie Mouse OR you can do the more modernized Pink & White Minnie Mouse colors.
Either option is so cute and sure to be a hit with your sweet two year olds!
Initially, I was thinking that I would decorate with the girly pink and gold Minnie Mouse route for Mabel’s Oh TWOdles birthday party, but ultimately, just had to go with classic black and red Mickey Mouse!
Because this little girl loves herself some Mickey!
Because it was her 2nd birthday party, I found this adorable “oh twodles” birthday sign on Amazon that fit perfectly with her party theme!
And because she has an awesome May birthday, we opted for another backyard deck party and grilled hot dogs for a “Hot Diggity Dog Bar” filled with toppings and different hot dog concoctions.
I ordered her cake and cookies from our favorite local bakery- Frosted Cakerie– and we were pretty much good to go!
Oh Twodles Birthday Cake
I mean how darling is that cake and those cookies?! They were absolutely perfect- and they tasted even better!
We also had the baker make the cake lemon flavored so that when we cut into it, there was yellow inside. It was so perfect!
I ordered Mickey ears for everyone (at the beginning of April!) to wear at the party….and they never arrived. But luckily the girls already had their own ears from previous Disney trips that worked perfectly!
My parents put up this awesome balloon arch for me and it was so great to take pictures in front of!
Oh Twodles Birthday Party Menu
Initially, I was going to print a menu that I had found on pinterest, but it turns out our printer is broken! So I ended up getting to put my chalkboard “skills” to use at the very last minute.
Funny enough, I could NOT figure out how to write the Disney “D”. I tried and tried and nothing looked right, so Abigail asked if she could give it a try. AND SHE NAILED IT. She drew the D for “Diggity” on this chalkboard! I laugh every time I look at it- she did such an amazing job.
I’m pretty sure Mabel ate three hot dogs along with fruit and chips and other food items we had available. Apparently I hit a home run when I put together her party food menu!
She was making this HILARIOUS face when Jim was lighting the candles- I have no idea why! lol!
But she was super enthusiastic about blowing them out! She jumped right up there and knew how to blow them out….
unfortunately Jim accidentally bought “trick” candles that don’t blow out and didn’t realize it until he lit them LOL! So as soon as she blew he grabbed them out of the cake. She didn’t notice so it ended up being just fine 😉
Mabel had the best time opening up her presents! She was so excited to tear into everything and was thrilled with every item she received. She wanted to stop and play with every present and had to be encouraged to keep going!
The biggest win was this Mickey Mouse who sings and talks. It plays the “hot dog” song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and she is obsessed with this thing. She walks around trying to sing hot dog, hot dog and laughs maniacally when it comes on. It was hilarious to watch her get so excited- and as you can see, she never put him down after he came out of the box!
It was the most perfect little party for our girl. She loved everything, from the dinner, to her cake, to her presents. She doled out lots of hugs and “thank yous” and just had a blast the entire time. It was so much fun!
So fun! Love the cake! That is really cute. This makes me wonder if R even knows who Mickey is… I’m not sure she does now that I think about it. I hope you get your money back for the Mickey ears since they haven’t even come yet???
This is the cutest! I was thinking about doing a Mickey/Minnie theme “two-ddles” birthday party for my daughter this fall when she turns two. She is obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
This theme! I love it so much. This is the *exact* theme we chose for Marcus’ second birthday, right down to the Oh-two-dles! Every thing about Mabel’s party was just perfect!
Everything looks so great! You did a great job!
Fun! We did that theme when Cash turned 2, too! So easy peasy!
Tell me, how is your Grandpa doing?
What a cute birthday. Love her cake and cookies. Love the theme of her party!
I know I always comment on Mabel because she is so stinking cute, but that pic of Abigail and the coke can… she is stunning.
It looks like you all had an amazing time!!
What a DARLING party!! You nailed it. Perfectly sweet for your Mabel. Love her expressions, your decorations and her new bff Mickey.
What a cute theme! The cake and the cookies were adorable! Mabel looked so cute in her dress, and Abigail looks so grown up!
All the smiles say a lot about how wonderful everything was. You did a nice job!!! I love it.
What an adorable party! It all came together so perfectly. Love that Abigail did the D (and so totally nailed it), and that cake & cookies is just perfection!
