Trip To Ikea
Okay, so, ever since my very first trip to Ikea back in February, I have become a devoted fan to the brand. Their style, convenience, price point, and endless DIY possibilities put this store just right up my alley and it has become just about one of my very favorite things. (And those cinnamon rolls! OH MY)
When we were up in Kansas City last weekend, Jim, Mabel, and I(and Uncle Logan too- he tagged along for the Starbucks pit stop on the way up) headed over to pick up a few things.
Every few months it basically works like this: I’ve been busy pinteresting and stalking the Ikea website. I come up with some new redesign plan for a certain spot in the house and Ikea has the cheapest and cutest solution for me. So I start building a list of items that I’d like to pick up next time we’re in the area. And then when I’m lucky to be close by, we stop in, grab only the things on the list(Jim races me through lightning fast so I don’t impulse ;)) and then check out.
Baby’s first(outside) trip to Ikea needed to be documented! And in front of her nursery chair no less 😉
Solly, Starbucks, Sadie Sky…these are a few of my favorite alliterative things….
Because Uncle Logan was with us, we were able to pick up a few things we had been planning on getting later because we had two extra hands to push one more of their awesome carts!
And because I’m sure you’re just dying to know what we ended up with this trip, here you go! I have some posts coming up about the things I’m working on updating around the house, but until then. excuse me while I go do some extra ab dvd’s to work off all of the cinnamon rolls I ate…..
Um, IKEA is the best. I love love love that chair. And that vanity. And the mirror (although my love for the mirror has already been made clear, hahaha).
Love your purchases! We picked up the blanket last time we were there, too. 🙂
Ummmmm, I just really want to go for the cinnamon rolls! YUM!
We've only ever been to Ikea once but their system of walking through had Eric so frustrated that he told me he was NEVER going back, ha ha. Lame!!
P.s. LOVE your finds! Especially that pillow! Ah, I really need to talk him into going with me again!
I LOVE that chair! I was looking at it myself online not too long ago. How do you like it?
We got two of the smaller Hemnes mirrors for our bathroom not too long ago – love them!
I'm swooning over your chair and oversized mirror. Both are so pretty. I'm excited to hear more about your projects. I've yet to try the cinnamon rolls, but I think I'd love them. I hear they are opening an IKEA in St. Louis so I'm excited to check it out!!
Sometimes I can convince my girl friend to make weekday trips to IKEA just so we can browse. It always ends up well for me scoring great finds, but my bank account doesn't always agree with my trips – nor does Scott. 🙂
That chair is amazing. I can't wait to see what you do with all your great finds!
I love IKEA. Sadly I rarely have a chance to actually shop there. Although, it probably is for the best. I'm glad you were able to have a fun little shopping trip and I can't wait to see more of what you do with your purchases. I already love your new yellow chair!
i am going this sunday! i am so excited!! my husband is not coming with, hahaha so he is not looking forward to me going.
You are lucky yours is so far away because its so dangerous having one close! Not only is it my favorite stop for ice cream (and soon to be cinnamon rolls – I need to try them!) but they have the best stuff. In fact, we might be going this weekend to get some frames for a project I'm doing!
Ohhh Ikea, my weakness. Have you had their hot dogs? (random, I know) but they're so good and onyl .50 cents! I love all those picks, The yellow and gray are so perfect it's killing me.

In LOVE with your yellow chair! Every once in a while my husband gets a wild hair and declares, "lets go to Ikea!" Its a fun hour trip and one we havent made since Brielana's been on the outside (guess he hasnt been feeling as spontaneous lately 😉
I miss having IKEA within WALKING distance. In Round Rock, it was so close. Not that I could have walked my purchases back anyway but it was nice to have one so close.
