Abigail’s Big Girl Room

In my recent post discussing all of my plans for Mabel’s nursery, I realized that
1) I never did a post about Abigail’s nursery and
2) I never did a post about her big girl room either. So, today is going to take care of that!
Drumroll please…..
Here is Abigail’s big girl room!
So, that is what her room looks like currently.
This is what it looked like when we brought her home 4+ years ago….
I love the evolution of her room(and the evolution of my decorating expertise, if I don’t say so myself). When we switched over to “big girl”, we kept a few things the same. The stencils, corner shelves, paint color, and curtains stayed the same. But lots of other things changed and grew up with her.

The heart Precious Moments was my Great Grandma’s, the snow globe Precious Moments came from the hospital where I delivered Abigail(Precious Moments is headquartered in the town where I had her, so they gave them to all of the new babies), pink piggy bank is from Hobby Lobby, empty purple frame is from TJ Maxx, the white frame is thrifted and spray painted and filled with a free printable, and of course, the famous best clock in the whole world is on top of her book shelf.

What kid room would be complete without a giant PBK anywhere chair filling it up? I suppose we’ll need to get one for Mabel now too….fabulous 😉

Some of her favorite toys to play with are out on display on top of the dresser that houses ALL of her clothes.

Little People Castle, old school polly pockets, my old American Girl Dolls, and the DIY name wall art that I made.

Of course, some of Abigail’s own art is displayed! Along with the doll beds that my Grandpa made for me when I was little.

I also made this wall art to hang above her bed for less than $5. Her bedding is my old PB Teen quilt and sham from when I was in high school(thanks for holding onto it Mom!)

We’ve got her Chicka Chicka Tree in here now and the bow holder(that is actually filled to overflowing, she had just been playing with a bunch of them this particular morning) that I got on her first birthday.

PB Teen lamp(also from my high school bedroom. Score!), Pink Octopus Nightlight, Target calendar, Hobby Lobby bird hanger.

As far as organizational type questions, there is storage under her bed where I keep all of her outgrown and out of season clothes. There are also drawers beneath where I keep extra blankets and sheets.

The toy box in front of her window was given to us by her Greatdaddy Jim(Jim’s grandpa) and it holds ALL of her stuffed animals(which is quite a feat, lemme tell ya). Like I said, all of her clothes fit in her dresser, and we use her closet for big toys like the shopping cart/stroller/car, shoes, doll accessories, and all of her dress up dresses.

And that’s it! That’s her room! I love it, she loves it, and I hope it will continue to grow with her for many years more 🙂
