*Our 6 year anniversary post*

7 years ago, on a warmish December day, shortly after a large blizzard, my sweet and handsome fiancé showed up at a church in Missouri to take me as his little wife.

Every girl should get to share her wedding day with her bestest friend.
I know there is a photo of me floating around on Facebook somewhere with Lauren while she pushes a lawn mower in her wedding dress.
What can I say, we’re there for each other.
This is the only picture of Jim and my “big kiss”
I have no idea what happened to our photographer during this moment. Trip to the bathroom? Fell down? Ran out of battery?
No idea.
I found this beauty on FB.
Fun Fact: Jim and I didn’t kiss for the first time until we had been engaged for a few months.

We had planned to wait until our wedding day for our first kiss but then….we changed our minds 🙂

ANYWAY. I remember my dad mentioning to me that some people came up to him that day and congratulated us on saving our kiss for our wedding day.
Sounds like the best of both worlds to me, am I right? 😉
THE CAKE.
Best cake of my life.
We had primarily red velvet, but we also had spice cake and vanilla with raspberry filling.
It was so good, y’all.
Our photographer made up for missing our kiss at the alter by snagging this picture of us at the end of our first dance 🙂
He said he’s always so thrilled when he snaps a picture like this one because they happen so fast and are usually unscripted.
We were young. And crazy.
Still are 🙂

Happy 7 years, love.

    1. Thank you, Jennifer! Yes! It really was. My lips have a propensity to turn blue(seriously, it's crazy) if I get too cold….so strapless dress in December…I wasn't sure how that would work out, but it ended up being absolutely perfect!

  1. Beautiful photos!! Happy anniversary to you two!! Funny about the first kiss story–somehow there was a rumor started that Angel and I weren't going to kiss till our wedding day back when we were engaged. Not by me! But I guess I seemed like that kind of person to a lot of people? My grandpa heard the rumor and sat me down very seriously and asked, "Is it true that you haven't kissed Angel yet?" And I was like, "No, Grandpa, that's not true, someone just made it up as a joke…" And his response was, "Good!" Probably the weirdest conversation I've had with my Grandpa…

    1. Thank you!!

Lol! I think the same thing about my Dad. He's like….why would people come up and talk to me about that? Ha! Jim and I were together 4 years before we got married, so only kissing a couple months before the wedding was a HUGE accomplishment! 🙂

  2. Hi, Courtney! I'm your newest follower! So good to meet you! I love your blog, and I love the fact that you at least considered waiting until your wedding day to be your first kiss. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year in a half, and have yet to kiss ( on the lips). We're wanting to wait for our wedding day, as well! It seems so crazy to other people, but I'm glad we're waiting; it'll be so great once we finall do, and we want to make sure we're being obedient to the Lord. I love your blog 🙂

    1. Hi, Allyssa! I'm so glad you're here!

I totally commend you for waiting until your wedding day. That is amazing and awesome and REALLY hard to do!! But, it's definitely possible(my sister in law did just that!) and will be such a blessing to the two of you. It's not crazy at all 🙂

  3. I forgot about a lot of those amazing/beautiful pictures. It was such a wonderful day for everyone involved! I'm so glad I was in it. 2 great people starting a life together. And I can't wait for our daughters to have the "my mom wore a hat conversation"
