Baby Spena Week 19

 c/o Leggings // c/o Boots

Symptoms: Hmm lets see! Bloating/swelling, constant peeing, super super dry skin and hair(but also super fast growing hair and nails), pregnancy brain. I don’t remember dealing with that with the girls- maybe it gets worse with each kid, but I swear I have no idea where my mind is half the time. I lose track of thought, or can’t type or spell what I’m thinking, or drive the wrong way (like, turn on the wrong street, or miss a turn, etc) while I’m driving for no good reason. Like, what the heck!?

Cravings: Salt! Seems to be the common theme. Chips, burgers, more chips.

The other day I saw a commercial for the blizzard of the month (extreme reese’s) so I drove all the way to DQ to get a mini. It was great.

Aversions: I think this will be the last week i have to include this category!! I think it’s safe to say that all of my aversions are gone now. I’ve been able to start drinking my daily latte a few times a week now, I’ve been weaning myself off of the coke a day I’d been having to settle my stomach, I’ve switched back to my fancy naturopath (disgusting tasting) prenatal vitamins, and have been able to start eating fruits and veggies again!

Size Of Baby: Heirloom tomato, 6 inches, 8.5 oz

Movement: Yes! Lots! I’d been feeling a few times a day for the last week or two, and that’s still true, but they’re definitely getting stronger and more noticeable. I don’t have to be laying down and resting to notice it anymore, I can feel it driving or sitting doing school with the girls.

A fun moment yesterday at church, our pastor accidentally turned on some music that was SUPER loud, and baby immediately started squirming in response to it. So he can hear! yay! (Also funny- same pastor did the same thing when I was pregnant with Mabel. Jim said he is our babies official hearing test administrator)

Sleep: Good! I’m using a big body pillow and can kind of manage a half stomach type position. I’m not totally on my side but not on my stomach…I don’t know. It works. Minus peeing throughout the night, sleep is good. Also, Mabel has been sleeping in this week- so that’s been great too! Slow mornings are my jam.

Clothing: I have a Stitch Fix box headed my way this week! I can’t wait to see what is in it. I’m seriously hoping for a new pair of shorts, because I literally wear the pair that I kept from my last box, like every day.

Gender: It’s a boy!! And we have a first name, but are still working on finalizing his middle. We’ve been at an impasse over it for weeks now! We’re between two names- Jim wants one, I want another….so we’re just trying to find a way to work that out. I may just have to tell you all his name before we have it decided because I have almost slipped so many times typing and talking!

Purchases: I’m still planning to put together a post of some of my recent ADORABLE baby boy finds! I posted on my Instagram stories about some Old Navy and Target finds that I just got and a few of you mentioned to check out Kohl’s. Which, I was like, meh. Kohl’s. Not my fave. BUT. I went and looked and oh my goshhhh found soooo much stuff. It was my first successful in store haul for the little dude and it was so much fun actually getting to buy the things right there instead of scouring a website. I don’t know- anyway, I can’t wait to show you some of it!

Looking Forward To: I have a dr’s appt this week! It’s always good to hear that heartbeat and know that everything is going along smoothly. (Although i’m going to pretend I can skip the scale part. oof)

  1. I love these little pregnancy updates! I am so happy for you that you are starting to be able to eat more food. I hate the aversions part of the first trimester.

  2. We’ve been debating sharing our little guy’s name before he’s born, too! Well, once we decide, that is. It wasn’t top secret with the girls or anything but we never actually announced it until they were here. I like calling them by their names, though, so it just may need to happen… 😉

  3. When our baby was born 3 weeks ago, we still hadn’t decided on a final middle name! We finally decided only because we needed to fill out the birth certificate papers.

  4. You are looking fab! I’m happy to hear that the aversions are gone. Kohl’s has some great deals, especially if you have Kohl’s cash, but I never have the patience to sort through it all and deal with the crowds.

  5. Yay!! Glad things are going so well. I can’t believe you’re almost to the half way point. You’re looking cute as ever and I’m excited to see what fun things you’ve found for baby boy.

  6. I’m so glad the morning sickness is going away! That was THE worst part of both boys’ pregnancies for me. Not being able to eat right, or eat anything at all is horrible. Can’t wait to hear the baby’s name!

  7. Hey, you are doing it right, enjoying your pregnancy. You are glowing and I did not think you could look any better, but you are even beautiful. Keep rocking it!
