Stitch Fix Review #12
Because I didn’t keep anything from my last box, I went ahead and scheduled another Fix a lot sooner than I typically do. I don’t do automatic boxes(though you have the option to schedule that!). Typically, I just request a box whenever we’re entering a new season or if I have a special occasion or event coming up. I’ve looked through my closet lately and while Stitch Fix has done an amazing job of filling out my wardrobe for fall and winter options, I’m severely lacking in my Spring/Summer department. (Unless I want to wear a tank top every day. And, since I don’t have an 18 year old body anymore….I don’t)
So anyway, for this box I requested to try some jeans again- but specifically none of that polyester/spandex stuff, and then some lovely spring tops. Possibly something that would photograph well for family photos in a few weeks. I also requested Nicole to be my stylist this time. Nicole follows me on Instagram and interacts with my page fairly often. I noticed in her bio a while back that she is a SF stylist, so I figured, what the heck! Let’s try it! And I’m so happy that I did!
This box is exactly the reason I love Stitch Fix so much. The customer service and personality you get with your experience is unlike any other shopping experience. I also love the unexpected quality of it. You never know exactly what you are going to get- and a lot of times(because I always peek at my shipment before it gets here) even if you think you’re going to just hate something, you get it home and you try it on with your things, and before you know if, you’re falling in love with a new item that you NEVER would have chosen for yourself. It’s really awesome!
Okay, so here are my five items for this Stitch Fix review! And I haven’t checked out yet because I’m still really deliberating over what to keep and what to send back- so help me out, mmkay?
Stitch Fix Review #12
Alice Blue Dalya Open Back Blouse
Mavi Hiedi Skinny Jean
So the first thing I tried on were these Mavi jeans. Nicole mentioned that these were a *bit* of a splurge, but that they are 100% cotton. So none of that cheap stretchy business is happening with these jeans. Which I love. But, because of that, I’m having a little bit of a muffin top situation in them. Not extreme….just in a like….if you lost five pounds these would be perfection kind of way. And, while I could stand to lose those five pounds, I also don’t really care enough at this time in my life to worry about it. So I’m not sure if the splurge is a good decision on jeans I may or may not fit into exactly perfectly….I don’t know. It’s a dilemma!
When I peeked at my fix I was not thrilled about this top. And I was not thrilled when I pulled it out of the box. But looking at it in these pictures? I actually kind of love it. I love how light and airy and springy it is. It is revealing without being form fitting. I’m kind of down with that. Pondering this one.
Alice Blue Guthie Side Split Blouse
My friend, Laura, got this same shirt in a box of hers recently and absolutely HATED it. I remember her saying that the pattern reminded her of a Grandma. So, when I saw that it was coming in my shipment I couldn’t help but think, “aw, man!”
And then I pulled it out of the box.
At the risk of losing my solid (self given) PG rating on this blog- take a look at this print and let me know what you think it looks like.
Because, all I’m seeing are a bunch of white and purple man parts.
This picture says, “I can’t believe I’m being photographed in a penis shirt”
Jim says, “hey, at least Stitch Fix knows what you like.”
I say, “Thanks for the laugh, SF, but gonna deff be returning this one.”
Brixon Ivy Pinson Drape Cardigan
The note about this cardigan was so, so sweet. Nicole mentioned that she knew Mabel’s birthday is coming up(aw! Right?!) and that she thought this top would be a really great option for our family pictures.
Once again, peeked, saw that it was blue, felt disappointed. Pulled it out of box, not a fan. Looking at it in these pictures? Kind of really like it! Nicole told me to pair it with a white tank, which I did, and it works great.
Abigail hopping into the picture at the end helps me envision the whole thing working.
Loveappella Basil Quilted Shoulder Knit Top
When I peeked at this particular shirt I was confused because it seemed to be incredibly wintery to me. Dark, quilted, I also thought that it was long sleeved. But once I put this on, it is light weight, 3/4 length, and the floral is actually really bright and beautiful.
I really love this shirt!
At first I thought it was my favorite thing in this box, but now I’m not so sure!
Either way, after last box being such a dud, I’m SO glad that my rebound box was such a winner. Thank you, Nicole!
Those jeans look great on you! I love the last top the most. The pattern is so pretty. As for the cardigan, I think it looks really nice. It would work great for family pictures. If you put the girls in some pale pinks or corals or purples. Jim maybe a navy shirt?
haha at the man part shirt! Love the final shirt the most.
Too bad that those jeans don’t feel quite right… they look fantastic on you! Definitely liking that last top best, but the first one is very sweet as well.
Jim’s comment about the grey shirt… Such a husband comment to make! I laughed out loud, because mine would have said the EXACT same thing. Men! 😉 Haha.
Looking forward to seeing your sweet family pictures after they’re taken!
Keep the cardigan and the last top – so cute on you!
Love the floral top AND the cardigan! And I hope they burn all those damn grandma/penis shirts!!! No more stitch fix!!!
Love it! I actually really like the first shirt on you, I think you should keep it. Those jeans look great too! It’s not hard to lose 5 lbs 😉
I’m getting mine in a few weeks, I think I’ll be posting too. Like you, I need a lot of Spring stuff! I used this app called StyleBook to catalog all my clothes and I realize I HAVE NO PRINTS. Everything I wear is solid. I need help. Also I only own one pair of shorts?! And three pairs of heels. I need help!

I love them all honestly! Seems like this’ll be s hard one to decide on. I think my fave is the cardigan though. 🙂
I love the drape cardigan, that’s a really nice color on you! 🙂
I love everything! Even the “man” shirt. 😉 Great pictures!
I got some Mavi boyfriend jeans through SF, and I LOVE THEM. KEEP THEM! Now that I know they have skinny jeans, I will totally be requesting them! I think that jeans and bras are totally worth the money. 🙂 LOVE the floral blouse and cardigan!! They are both SO PRETTY and perfect for spring (and sweet Mabel’s birthday pictures). I feel ya on the penis shirt….and the last one is up to you! Great box! I am totally requesting a few of these things! (I know that takes the fun out of the surprise, but at least I know I’ll like them!)
So many things about this!!
A) How in the world did you find/follow a stylist? I would LOVE to do that! Connecting a little bit more than just in the notes section would be super.
B) Minus the penis shirt (I’m totally seeing man bits, too), I LOVE everything else.
C) I’m going to be a total enabler. Splurge on those jeans.
D) You do not need to lose a pound.
The end. 🙂
I’m dying over your penis shirt. I LOVE my Mavi jeans and think they’re absolutely worth the splurge. I say go for it. I also love the first top and the cardigan. You got a great one this time!
WOW! Such a great box!! I love the first blue floral top, the cardigan, and the floral knit top. You’re so cute anyway, love it all!
I love your Fix! So cute! 🙂 I actually think that first floral top is SO CUTE!!!!!!
That last shirt is too cute!
bahahahaha penis shirt!!! hilarious.
those jeans look great on you! i have a muffin top no matter what, no matter if i lose 5 or 10 or whatever. even when i was legit anorexic, i had a muffin top. whatever! i wear camis under everything and tuck them in, voila, muffin top gone hahaha. but i understand if you don’t splurge. also i feel you on not wanting to wear a tank top everyday. no thanks.
Apparently I don’t know anything about what looks cute on people, because I actually thought the penis shirt was the cutest one. Minus the actual print, I guess 😉 My spring/summer wardrobe is severely lacking. I will be wearing tank tops all summer if I don’t do something fast.
The man part shirt, seriously funny. I’m glad you pointed that one out. Gave me a laugh. I really like the first top. It seems so light and airy and springlike. Plus, it looks really good on you. The jeans look great. But, I say if they don’t feel great, send ’em back because you will end up not wearing them.
I love that last top on you! And I think the jeans look fantastic!
OMG at first look (first pic) I LOVED loved LOVED the man parts shirt… til you pointed that out. Bummer!
The other ones look cute too and I like that your stylist knows you “enough” to send things for photo shoots 🙂
What Desiree said! How did you find your stylist and follow her on Instagram?? I’d love to do that!
Also, that man bits shirt. I didn’t see it at first but now it’s ALL I SEE. lol. Def return!
I’m also going to agree on the jeans…. KEEP. They look great one you and you don’t need to lose a pound!!
Overall, minus the man bits shirt, great fix!
HA! I didnt see penises but if that’s all you saw its not a keeper. I think the cardigan is gorgeous and the color looks good on you! And the floral knit is cute too!
okay i am dying at the penis shirt!!! YES that is now all i’m seeing, too. can’t unsee it. haha!! but honestly, all of this looks really great on you!!! cannot believe you had that precious babe just not so long ago!! okay and mavi jeans?! i am having a flashback! i remember when the cool kids [okay like one girl i thought was cool] were getting mavis from the buckle in like, middle school. i guess the brand is still around?!? how funny!! they look great on you. for me, though, even when i just FEEL muffin toppy i can’t be comfortable.
Ooooh that’s a toughy!! I really like all the tops. The blue floral with open back is probably my favorite. I also like the color of the cardigan. Definitely screams spring!
I vote to keep the cardigan and that last shirt – both look really good on you and have that springy feel. I need to hop on the SF bandwagon soon!
I didn’t notice the man parts until you pointed it out, but now I totally see them. Ha. And Jim’s comment is hilarious. Totally something my husband would say. The cardigan looks adorable on you! And the color is gorgeous.
I love the last top! That would be the keeper for me for sure! And oh my goodness, that blue guthie blouse. haha! Your conversation with Jim sounds exactly like one I would have with my husband. That cardigan is pretty too – very Springy!
