Cactus Baby Nursery Reveal!
Finn’s Cactus Baby Nursery was featured on Project Nursery, What Little Wonder and What To Expect!
I am so very excited to finally share Finn’s cactus baby nursery reveal with you today! (All links are listed at the bottom of the post!)
I still have a few small odds and ends to add to this space to help warm it up- right now you can clearly tell that a baby doesn’t live in here quite yet! But once he is here and it is filled up with more toys, books, and baby items, I think this room will really cozy right up and be a functional and perfect space for sweet Finn to grow up in.
Here is what his room started out as- Mabel’s nursery!
The things we(Jim) did in Finn’s cactus baby nursery:
- Painted the walls
- Installed a shiplap accent wall
- Built sliding closet barn doors
- Installed a closet light
- Installed a light/ceiling fan and changed out an old light for a new school house light!
- Hung wall art
- Painted the crib (it went from coral pink to green!)
- Moved in furniture!
Here it is! Finn’s Cactus Baby Nursery
We reused all of the furniture from Mabel’s nursery. The dresser, nightstand, rocker, lamp and crib are all pieces that she had in her room. The only changes I really made were changing out the rug, adding the four cube organizer, and painting the crib a new color.
If there was anything I could change in here, it would be finding some way to make his air conditioner window unit be less of an eye sore! This room absolutely has to have one because the sun shines into this room literally from sun up to sun down and it gets as hot as hades in here without it- but still, it isn’t very aesthetically pleasing 😉
I mentioned in this post how the first thing I decided on for his room was this giant House Of Belonging sign. I knew right away that I wanted to hang it over his crib. From there, I started thinking about what color I wanted to make his crib- I decided pretty quickly on green…which then led to to the loose cactus theme.
And of course, I wanted to add some rustic and raw wood elements to the room, which is where the ideas for the shiplap accent wall and barn doors came from!
Jim did an amazing job working in here and totally made my entire vision come to fruition. I absolutely love this space. I’m so happy with how bright, crisp, and clean it is but also how it has totally become a little boy’s room.
Something I didn’t know if I would ever get to design!

Perfection!!!
Ahhh thank you!!!
Such a cute space for your precious boy!
Thanks so much, Trisha! 🙂
Love the space!! Can’t wait to see a little boy in there too..!! 🙂
Ahhh! Same!
I love it! The color of the crib is my favorite part. It really ties everything together.
The painted crib is totally my favorite thing in the room. In both Mabel’s and Finn’s!
Job well done!! LOVE that crib color. The new light fixture is amazing. Those closet doors are so cool and I just love your vision for Finn’s nursery. The cactus theme is so sweet. He’s going to love his room.
The green crib is probably my favorite thing! I hope he loves sleeping in there(in about 6 months or so :p)
Love x 1 million! You have a true talent! And…I adore his name!!!!
You’re sweet. Thank you, Vanessa!
It all came together so well! I love the wood wall shelves (or are they cubes?). And the barn doors on the closet are just fabulous.
Or hexagons? Something like that, lol! I was going to have Jim build me some, but I had a friend find these at Target for like $6 and you can’t beat that!!
Seriously love how this space came together. Those pops of green and the natural wood are perfection!
Thank you! 🙂
That is so great. I bet it was such a different experience shopping and decorating for a boy!
Totally different! But I really enjoyed it!
It’s completely perfect! I love the black and white with pops of green.
Oh wow, it looks great! I especially like that ceiling fan/light.
I know you said you painted the crib Krylon Emerald Green, I have a few other questions. Did you spray paint it or brush paint? I’ve only been able to find Krylon in spray paint. If you did use spray paint was it flat, gloss, etc?
Love the green!
The green crib!! I’m thinking about painting ours but I’m a little scared of whether or not that’s safe for babe? Would you share with me the process of painting it? What products/methods did you use? Thanks in advance! It’s a beautiful space!
I love everything about this space!
