Come Inside, It’s Fun Inside! My Tour Through Blogland

Yes, I started my blog title with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ripoff. A 3 year old lives here, what can I say?

We live in a 1600 sq ft home. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms….and that’s pretty much all you need to know!

So, here we go 🙂

Welcome! This is the entrance to our house. The doors and shutters on our house used to be green, but in a stroke of genius(those happen occasionally), I painted them dark gray. You can read that tutorial HERE.

Then we come inside!
Our home is a ranch style with a split floor plan, so one bathroom + 2 bedrooms are on one side of the house and the master bed and bath + laundry room are on the other side.

This is my constantly evolving entry way.

I’m always moving things around in here. Ever since I recently discovered how to hammer and nail things to the walls nothing is safe anymore.

You can read about my recent entry way makeover HERE!

And this is our living room!

These have to be iPhone photos because I always shoot with a 50mm 1.8 on my DSLR. It’s 100% completely impossible to fully photograph any room in my house with it. So, it is what it is!

This room has gone through some SERIOUS evolution since we put our house on the market back in May. You can see the start of the transformation HERE 🙂

Walmart lamp and shade, Target candle, Abigail MOPS craft, books that used to be on our bookshelf.
Our exciting hallway! The white frames have collages filled with some of my most recent favorite Instagram photos.
And the end of the hallway is our bathroom, first room on the left is Abigail’s, the second is the playroom/schoolroom, and there is also a closet in the hall that we keep all of our craft supplies in.
I’m skipping the bedrooms because we have lots of other fun things to see on today’s tour 😉
And this is where we eat! Our table and chairs are from Crate & Barrel. We’ve had them for 6? years now and they have served us well!
And here is our kitchen! This room has pretty much looked exactly the same since the day we moved in. I have a major itch to paint and change out light fixtures…..but, we’ll wait and see on that 🙂

Right below that arch in the background is my “blogging spot”. We keep our desktop computer and desk tucked away back there, but it isn’t much to look at so, we’re skipping it today!
And this my friends is my Starbuck’s menu. One day while I was working there we were switching over to the red holiday menus and I noticed this sitting on top of the trash. I thought to myself that I could do something fun with it someday and scooped it up and took it home. As a gift my Mama had it framed nicely for me and it has hung in my kitchen ever since!
If you’ve ever been curious about what 2005 Leesburg, VA coffee prices were, well, now you know.

And here is the other side of the house! The laundry room is through that door on the right, the door out to our garage is over here as well. And of course, this is our master bedroom. We keep our piano in here and through the door you can see our master bath. We have a jetted tub, shower, two closets, and other bathroomy stuff back in there. And that completes today’s tour of Casa De Spena! Thanks for looking and reading along!

  1. Love your house! Feels so cozy and everything is so pretty! We've been married 5 years and everything from our first apartment is pretty much what we still have now-mainly because we haven't found our forever home but my taste 5 years ago before kids is NOT my taste now! I'll be checking ok those tutorials on the diy chalkboard and curtains! Have a great day 🙂

  2. You tried my idea of putting a stack of books under that cute lamp…it looks great!! Thanks for the tour, it was fun! Since I've been staying home I've started giving each room in our house a little updating. My husband built it for us 10 years ago and I feel like I was so busy when I was working full time that I didn't have time to even notice that I was a bit bored with the decor! Our home is beautiful and I love everything about it but it's been so much fun to rearrange some furniture, get new pillows/bedding, hang some new things on the walls, etc. Now I've been watching too much Fixer Upper and have ideas for a mini bathroom remodel and a new kitchen backsplash…my husband is SO excited 😉

  3. I love your house! I bet it will sell quickly! 🙂 There are so many great little touches (like Abigail's craft) and it's just beautiful! I love that lamp from Walmart!

  4. You've done a great job, Courtney! Your house looks super cozy and comfy. One questions: Do you ever feel like you're outgrowing your house? We live in a 1400 square footer with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths like you guys, but I feel like I am constantly bumping into things and never have enough storage. Yours is more open/better planned out than ours, so maybe you don't have that problem. But I am definitely looking forward to a bit more space one day!

  5. Very beautiful house, Courtney! I love your style!! If I were moving to Joplin, I'd totally buy your house 🙂 Seriously, I want our next house to be just like that! Oh and Starbucks sign is awesome!

  6. absolutely adore your house! love everything, the kitchen, the pictures on the wall, and your bed is gorgeous! i wish my house looked as cozy and lovely as yours!

  7. You have such an adorable house! Seriously, no clue why it isn't being scooped up. The Starbucks menu is such a cool conversation piece.

    And your bed! It's gorgeous!

  8. I love how open your kitchen/dining/living area is! and I totally love your front door way! We are debating on a dark grey or a black front door for the new house! Our floor plans look really similar! Thanks for sharing – love that coffee sign in your kitchen too 🙂

  9. LOVE the home tour! I absolutely love your kitchen. Especially the little dining area. The table and the feel about it is just so inviting. Oh, and I LOVE the Starbucks poster! Seriously, if I could get my hands on one of those, I would SO put that somewhere in my house (my kitchen isn't quite big enough for that…maybe one day!)
