Oils For Postpartum Hair Loss
There are so many changes that women experience when they have a baby. Our bodies change(all the way from the tips of our fingers down to our toes!), our skin changes, our hair changes, our mouth and our eyesight and our sense of smell can change too. It’s insane! Hormones are totally crazy. I’m currently 7 months postpartum with baby number three, and once again, I’m in the season of postpartum hair loss.
I have gone through this three times now and it still completely shocks me every time I wash my hair or run my fingers through it. Hair is falling out like crazy. CRAZY.
I haven’t learned of a cure all solution yet, but have found a few things that might be worth trying if you are dealing with postpartum hair loss too and want to do something other than just ride it out and/or cut bangs (which is what I have done the two previous times before!)
Oils For Postpartum Hair Loss Solutions To Try:
Amber Spray Bottle / Hair, Skin, & Nails Gummies / Vital Proteins / Collagen Peptides / Rosemary Essential Oil / Sulfurzyme / Just Nutritive Shampoo & Conditioner / Trim Healthy Mama Collagen
If you are into essential oils, you can mix together your very own Mermaid Spray!
Essential Oils For Postpartum Hair Loss Mermaid Hair Spray Recipe:
In a 2oz glass spray bottle, add:
10 drops of Lavender essential oil
10 drops of Cedarwood essential oil,
10 drops of Rosemary essential oil
2 squirts of witch hazel
a pinch of epsom salt,
and fill the rest with distilled water.
Be sure to add Rosemary Essential oil to your next Young Living order!
Another Young Living product that I can’t recommend enough for postpartum hair loss and hair growth is the Sulfurzyme supplement!
This supports healthy hair, skin, and nails, contains MSM and a prebiotic for a happy and healthy gut too. You’ll be glowing from the inside, out!
And lastly,
Collagen! (I’m obviously not a Dr. so if you’re concerned, be sure to ask your Dr. before adding this into your daily routine!)
Some of the collagen brands recommended to me have been:
Trim Healthy Mama, Vital Proteins, Collagen Peptides
Additional Postpartum Hair Loss Tips:
Try switching up your part- and try out a middle one!
Brush your hair as little as possible.
Wash your hair less frequently(though, if I washed my hair less frequently than I already do- I’ll start to have a Pigpen dust cloud following me around)
and don’t brush it while it is wet!
I used Garnier Fall Fight and it seemed to help slow the hair loss down some at least. I hated the hair loss soooo much.
Thanks for this blog.I’m a first time mom and my baby boy is 4 months. My edges were practically bald, it’s so depressing. But I’m finally starting to see a little progress.Your advice has been a lot of work for me.
Thank you so much for this article! I’ve added collagen powder to my routine to help with my postpartum hair shedding although i admit i’m not consistent. Adding a supplement has been the best thing i’ve down though that’s made a difference. I found the baby blues postpartum hair loss vitamins after a few tears to my obgyn and am actually surprised how much they’ve helped with my regrowth and changing how my hair felt so thin. Definitely recommend to new Mama’s.
