Stitch Fix Review #8

Hooray! I’m finally back to Stitch Fix! I took an extended box break after my February fix, because I went and got massive pregnant and then wanted a few months to rebound after Miss Mabel’s appearance.

Truthfully, I got a box before we went to Destin last month and it was awfullllll. I had mentioned in my notes that I was postpartum and nursing and I just definitely shouldn’t have done that. I got four hideous button down shirts and a maxi skirt. Nope nope nope. So I ate the styling fee, freshened up my Pinterest style board, requested a specific stylist who has styled me before, and requested things I normally would. And I am SO glad I did that! This box was one of my favorite boxes I have ever gotten. When I peeked(I always peek at what I’m getting) at my box I told Jim to watch out because this might be a 5/5 😉 Fortunately for him, it’s only going to be a 1/5 but that one piece I’m keeping is probably my most favorite Stitch Fix item I’ve gotten so far! So, without further ado, here is my Stitch Fix review #8!

This shirt was an almost almost almost keeper. In fact, I *might* regret not keeping it. It is super stretchy and light, actually fabulous for nursing because I can toss a nursing tank underneath it and be good to go. It isn’t super clingy and of course, I’m all about those polka dots.
I couldn’t help but feel like it made me look a little bigger than I actually am, and so ultimately, after much deliberation I decided to send it back.

This shirt was cute but not 100% my style and not stretchy. As in, I had a hard time getting it on and off because it was so “fitted”. It did have an adorable pearl detail on the sleeves that I really liked, but yeah, back in the box it went!

When I saw this on my style card I had such super high hopes for it. Purple is one of my favorite colors to wear and I love the girly lace detail. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the built in tank top AT ALL. It was super short and you could see my bra straight through the shirt. No bueno. So, bye bye beautiful lace shirt that I wish would have worked.

I specifically requested a pair of colored pants for fall. I’ve seen lots of beautiful reds and greens floating around out there so I was hoping to snag a pair for myself. This burgundy pair is gorgeous and I was beyond thrilled after I crossed my fingers, toes, and myself that I fit perfectly back into a size 6 again(holla!!).
But seriously- a side note- how Stitch Fix has managed to send me perfectly fitting pants every single time is like magic. How do they do it?! I can’t shop for pants that fit by myself. How they can do it is some sort of sorcery.
Anyway, I got a serious case of the sads when I realized these were not only cropped pants, but cropped pants on my 5 7 frame. Pair with booties? I don’t think so. These pants were straight up capris. Not going to work for fall or winter- and because of the color, won’t work for spring or summer either. So, these particular pants were sent back, but I’m still going to hold out hope for a full length pair of colored beauties soon!

And here she is. My most favorite Stitch Fix item ever ever. When I pulled it out of the box I legit squealed. Possibly did an excited jump thing.

It’s gray(love). Has elbow patches(love). Fits like a glove(love). Is 100% totally my style(love). And yeah, you’ll probably be seeing me in this sweater all fall and winter long. Fair warning.

So what do you think? What would you have kept? I’d love to hear your thoughts about this Stitch Fix review!

  1. Honestly, they all look adorable on you and you look amazing post-baby bump. But it's all about how they make you feel. Don't you just love fall?

  2. Love the item you kept SO much! It's perfect on you. And I may or may not have a shirt very similar to that in a herringbone pattern – with lace elbow patches and all – headed to Pearl & Monroe very soon;)

  3. LOVE that sweater you kept!!! Especially LOVE the lace elbow patches. I'm a sucker for elbow patches, and lace? Forget about it. I would have kept it too! I just signed up for my first fix and I am sooooooooooo excited!!

  4. Great fix! You look so pretty in purple so you'll have to be on the hunt for a similar/better version of that top. Love you in polka-dots and it's a shame that those burgundy pants were capris. Wrong season, but hopefully they can find a similar version of pants for your next fix 🙂

  5. LOVE that sweater you got!! I am totally pinning it to my board! 😉 I love the other pieces, but I know what you mean about the fit and comfort…So, Old Navy has these amazing Pixie pants for fall in so many colors (including a red/burgundy), and I have gotten 3 pairs so far. Check them out!

  6. Love the one you kept, and the dot blouse! I have a fix coming soon and I'm asking for them!!! We can be twinsies! Also, I never mention that I'm nursing because I don't want that to throw off my fix.

  7. Yes to your keeper!!!! It's adorable and I'm in love!!!! I may request the same shirt in a future fix! P.S. How do you request a stylist? I requested one for my fix a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't get her. 🙁 And…I imagine SF has a hundred of Lindsays working for them, so how do they even know?

  8. Majorly bummed for you on that purple lace top, so pretty on you! I hate when expectation and reality collide lol But the gray sweater with lace patches is THE BOMB DIGGITY! Im almost tempted to try Stitchfix after this amazing box.

  9. First of all – you just had a baby?? You look amazing. And I love that gray top! Adorable. I also like the stripes but if it wasn't comfortable then you made the right choice 🙂

  10. I LOVE that first polkadot top! You should have kept it and sent it to me 🙂 But seriously, where can I get that top? I also LOVE the top you kept! It is absolutely amazing in every way and so very perfect for these upcoming months! Again, where can I get my hands on that sweater?! Love love love! Enjoy wearing it! And also: you are lookin' good mama! 🙂

  11. I received the same pair of pants and loved the look of them, unfortunately they didn't fit (the first time pants haven't fit me from them!).

I love the choice! Good job!

  12. I 110% agree with you on everything but the navy polka dot top – it was so incredibly cute on you! I might have to request it for myself… 😉 Unrelated, can you tell me about the shoes you are wearing with the crop pants? Those are super cute and would have lots of wearing potential!

  13. You look stunning for just having had a baby!
To be honest about your selection, which is what I think you would want. I think the gray sweater is the least attractive on you than most everything else. The first blue shirt, with your coloring and shape I think is the BEST. I think the gray sweater makes you look frumpy especially in the front shot.
    Just my humble opinion.
