7 Months Of Finn
Finn is 7 months old! He has somehow managed to still get happier and happier by the day. You wouldn’t think that it was possible, yet somehow he manages it! He is all smiles, all snuggles, all belly laughs, slobbery kisses, hair pull hugs, clapping, and sweetness.
But I’m getting ahead of myself!
Finn’s 7 Months Stats!
Size: Still such a chunker man! He puts your arms to sleep when you hold him and is trying to outgrow the length of his pajamas again! He won’t have another checkup until 9 months, but I’m guessing he is somewhere in the 20ish lb range and 29-30 inches long. Big guy!
Breastfeeding: All day, every day! He nurses every 2-3 hours during the day, gives me one long stretch from bedtime at 6:30pm until midnight or so, and then every 3-4 hours after that until we start our day.
He eats quickly and efficiently- so much, that sometimes I worry about how much of a supply I have and what he is getting. (Jim tells me to just look at his thighs and not worry about it anymore) Since I don’t pump, I have no idea what’s going on in there. But there have been 1 or 2 times where he has gone a half an hour or so past when it was time to eat and I suddenly realize that supply is not an issue. He’s getting plenty! ha!
Eating: We started solid foods and he loves them! He sits in his high chair like such a big boy and loves being fed. So far, he has had (and loved!) yogurt, avocado, applesauce, bananas, and puffs. I think this week we’ll try sweet potatoes and some sort of berry- but we’ll see! Texture doesn’t seem to bother him, he just gobbles up whatever I give him.
Sleep: He naps three times a day, after being awake for an hour or so and has a solid bedtime of 6:30 pm. He wakes up/cries for paci replacements multiple times a night and eats at least three times before morning….but, all in all, he’s still a pretty good sleeper. Plus he’s just SO HAPPY. So we let him get away with a lot 😉
Loves: Everything! No…but really.
Hates: Seriously. Still. The one thing that gets him yelling at me is the like, five seconds, it takes me to switch sides when I’m feeding him.
Places He Has Been: He went to Grandma Jenny’s house and Uncle Cameron’s for Easter celebrations and stayed in the church nursery for the beginning part of service(while I played music) for the first time, otherwise, just the usual!
Milestones: Sitting up unassisted(and I realize all of the pictures in this post don’t include that…oops!), clapping, babbling, switched to a convertible car seat, rolling(but doesn’t ever do it), eating solid foods(and the exit of the breast milk only diapers….sad day)
Looks Like:Â Everyone! I still think he looks SO MUCH LIKE ABIGAIL, but she looks just like me…so he looks like me? But he also looks like Jim! And then he makes this expression with his mouth and it makes him look just like Mabel. We’ve also gotten comments about how he looks like Jim’s Dad, Jim’s grandpa, my Mom, and my brother. So, you know, a little bit of everybody!
Comparison Pictures:
Happy 7 months, Finner! We love you so much!
Happy 7 months, Finn! He is getting so big. Love that big smile!
Oh my gosh he’s so cute! Such a sweet smile. Pumping is not an indicator of supply, so even if you were pumping that wouldn’t necessarily tell you anything. My supply is fine when I’m feeding J, but pumping is crap for me (and my supply is getting worse because of it). Just be thankful you don’t have to worry about any of that! 🙂
Watching babies eat solid foods is one of my favorite things and the messier the better! I will say that the diapers that accompany that are easier for me to deal with because no one has time for blowouts! Finn’s just so cute.
The pic that is (sort of) diagonal looks exactly like Abigail. That is the first time I have “seen” him look similar to anyone. But as I always tell my cousin, they are still little and it may take time to see who babies really look like
He’s looking so big! Must be ’cause he’s such a good eater! Glad he’s a happy little guy!
He is just too cute!!
