A 6th Birthday Girl Survey

As I’ve said many, many times, the very best thing about this blog is the ability to store up and record all of my precious memories about my girls. I started doing these birthday surveys for Abigail’s 3rd birthday and have done it every year since!

It is so fun to look back at her old answers, to see what has changed and what has stayed the same, and it is always so much fun interviewing her. I wish I could just tape record the way she answers questions, because she always talks with SO much inflection in her voice, and she never answers a question succinctly- there is always a long explanation and description of what her answer is before we can move on. I love it. My sweet Abigail.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A Queen!

This led into a long discussion about how she can only become a queen if she marries someone in line to succeed to the throne, which I told her was never going to happen, lol. So, I told her to pick something else šŸ˜‰

So then she said,

Okay, a Dr. (So that I can see what the inside of people look like!) Ā Which led into another discussion about how if you really want to see inside people you probably need to become a surgeon, so then I explained how much school she would need to have to be able to do that…so then she thought maybe she’d just be a Mommy to 4 cute snuggly babies.

But then as I was leaving her room for quiet time she said she’d changed her mind back to being a surgeon again. And I let her know that she has plenty of time to change her mind about what she wants to be over and over again šŸ™‚

  1. This is the cutest thing ever and such a fun idea! I love all of her answers; and my daughter is the same way – everything requires A HUGE explanation and as she explains, questions come to her head and then she asks about 100 questions to go along with the topic lol. Girls!

  2. The “breaks” are totally the best part about the beach!
I love her details and descriptions. And a surgeon would be so cool!
    Happy 6 a little early!!

  3. Happy, Happy Birthday, Abigail!! As a beach goer I totally knew what “the breaks” meant šŸ˜‰ They just grow up too fast, right?!?

  4. I couldnā€™t agree more! My Mother in Law was talking the other day about how she never finished her sonā€™s scrapbooks. She just gave everything she kept to them in a bag. I mentioned that Masons is all online. And it is! I love blogging and having a place to keep those memories, but I really need to get something printed. Do you ever print from your blog? What a fun interview. Abigail is such a beautiful little girl! I adore that she said ā€œVioletā€ and not just purple.
