Baby Jesus In A Cinnamon Roll. Or, An Easter Recap.

We’re back!
I’m back!
We left sunny and warm AZ to return to rainy, cloudy, and cool MO. I don’t like to be a complainer so…..I’m going to choose to be thankful that it is light and airy enough to have the windows open.
Moving on.
A brief little recap of our Easter celebration!
How happy, light, and joyful is Easter? It’s so beautiful. I love it so.
We don’t do the Easter bunny in this house, but my Mom did put together an Easter basket full of fun goodies for Abigail to open up. We didn’t save it for Easter morning. In fact, we opened it up almost a full week ahead of Easter. But there were some really fun things that could be played with at Grammy’s house so we needed to open them up early in the week!

On Easter morning, Abigail and Mom made resurrection rolls together. {baking a marshmallow inside a crescent roll} SUCH a cute idea.

Of course, then Abigail kept talking about how they put baby Jesus inside a cinnamon roll.

We got to worship together at my parent’s church in Phoenix and naturally, had to take a family selfie before we headed there.

Seahorse even made it in the picture!

My bible study has worked through the entire book of John since last fall. The whole purpose of the book can be summed up by this verse:

John 20:31

“but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

I found myself reflecting on that verse over and over again on Sunday morning. How the entire point of it all was so that I would believe that He IS the Christ. So that I may have life.

Hallelujah, what a Savior.

He is risen, indeed.

How was your Easter? If you posted an Easter recap be sure to leave a link to it in the comments, I don’t want to miss it!

  1. What a basket, way to go Grammy! I just saw that marshmallow idea yesterday all over FB and it's definitely something I want to try to do next year. Jesus in a cinnamon roll, haha, so cute! I'm glad you guys had a great trip! I'm working on our Easter recap now 🙂

  2. Beautiful pictures!

Abigail is so stinking cute, I miss seeing you guys on Tuesdays. Summer play dates must resume asap.

And your post reminded me I TOTALLY forgot about resurrection rolls. Man I remember making those with M when she was almost 4 and we had to have a BIG discussion covering the topic that Jesus was not a marshmallow. Maybe we will still make them this week. We are still lingering over Easter stuff.

And, I love your He is risen, He is risen indeed references. That is one of my favorite things about church on Easter morning.
