The Epic Conclusion To Our Wonderful Beach Vacation

Our last day at the beach was Friday. We got maybe an hour of beach/pool time in before it rained and stormed the rest of the day. But, since it was the last day of vacation I had my camera down with me and took enough pictures to make even myself think we’d been there an entire day.
Abigail had one spot in the pool that she loved jumping off of. It was right next to the 3 ft sign. She was not interested in jumping in from anywhere else. Even if other people were floating past or standing there she would wait determinedly to jump in until they moved on.
Look at that handsome hubby of mine. I just love him! 🙂
The above pictures are a completely gratuitous progession of Abigail’s reaction to all of us jumping off her usual diving board spot. First Pappy went, then Daddy, then Uncle Cameron, then Mommy. She was loving it.
This was also the end of her orange sunglasses. They had a good run.
One of the coolest things Abigail learned while we were on vacation was how to blow bubbles in the water. I was so proud of her for being brave enough to try and for learning how to master it. Her Daddy was such a great teacher and by the end of the week she was doing such an awesome job!
Three Men & A Baby
I’m so concerned that Abigail doesn’t get enough attention in a day.
I can’t help but just smile from ear to ear at these pictures. A daddy, pappy, and uncle who love her so, so much just enjoying each other. I love it.
After a brief stint in the pool Abigail asked to go to the “osh”(although now she completely says ocean), where we played for a while.
She wasn’t completely enamored with the Ocean. She liked looking at it and would let you hold her, but she didn’t want to do much swimming in it. Don’t blame her a bit!
Abigail loved digging in the sand. She never tried to eat it and we never had any issues with it getting in her eyes.
The rest of the day was very stormy out, so we stayed in. Abigail napped and played. Jim, Cameron, and I played Settlers of Catan, and everyone else played Ticket to Ride. I wish I had thought to take a picture of us all, but alas, I didn’t.
When it was too close to dinner time to go back outside it stopped raining and the sun came back out(go figure, right?). We went to McGuire’s Irish Pub and had a hilariously fun meal.
After McGuire’s, we stopped by Marble Slab once last time for some Red Velvet ice cream. Yum!
I had to be sure to include these two pictures. This was how happy and excited Abigail got every.single.time. the elevator started to go up OR down. It’s like when my little brother said the best ride at Disney was the monorail. Little girl loved riding the elevator.
I also had to include Abigail showing off to Pappy her ladder climbing skills. For such a tentative personality she really has zero reservations when it comes to climbing. She had those bunk beds mastered in no time. Thank goodness she still sleeps in sleep sacks. They keep her contained…for now.
We had such a wonderful, amazing, fun, fun, fun vacation. We made amazing memories and have been able to tackle everyday life with a bit more zest and vigor after having a week to recharge and refresh.
We will miss you beach! Can’t wait to come back and see you again next year! (We hope!!!)
