After Jim got off work on Friday evening the 3 of us drove up to Peculiar to spend time with Jim’s family. His sister, brother in law, our nephew, and his grandmother were all visiting as well. I failed pretty miserably on the whole “take lots of pictures” thing, but there are a few that prove we actually did have a visit:)
Friday night we took advantage of having a babysitter and went to see The Dark Knight Rises. It was fabulous. After some discussion I think I would rank my favorites of the Batman’s as 2,3,1. You know how Nolan’s movies are though, we definitely need to see it again to fully appreciate it!
On Saturday, we went to a little cottage in Harrisonville and had a surprise 80th birthday party for Jim’s Grandmother Ann(her first name is Faye- one of the grandma’s Abigail got her middle name from!). We spent the whole day there playing games, eating food, and visiting.
With Grandma Jenny and distantish cousins, Joshua and Victoria
Uncle Jim playing some golf with David
Saturday night Abigail woke up fussing with a low grade fever and a yucky runny nose(Thanks a lot train table at story time! I knew you would cause something like this!) So we missed out on church Sunday morning but were able to play and have fun all day at Grandma Jenny’s and Grandpa Monty’s.
Much to my chagrin, Abigail love love loves the trampoline. In fact, this may be one of the first things she has ever loved the first time she tried it. I would have contested, but Daddy had already been jumping with her all morning while I got to sleep in. So, I didn’t get to protest much.
Abigail really wanted me to jump with her. Blerg. It makes me SO nervous!
A lovely compromise. Ring around the rosie.
Just chillin on the trampoline
Er…mom fail.
Me being mauled to death by a baby girl. This happens on the reg.
Abigail had a marvelous time playing with her Grandma Jenny. She loves her so much and gets so excited to see her!!
She also had a lot of fun playing with David. He was so sweet and kept calling her “my friend, Abigail” and she called him, “day”. They played so nicely together and I think will be great friends as they get bigger!
We also took advantage of babysitters again that evening and Jim and I went shooting with John, our brother in law, and Monty. They have some friends who live on a farm and had lots of guns for us to try out. I’ve never shot so much as a bb gun so this was a huge learning experience for me. But, it was great and I’d really like to do it again. Jim got a short clip of me shooting of a big shotgun and I was really proud of myself!
We headed back Sunday evening and got home pretty late last night. Abigail’s cold seems to be doing better today. Still a yucky, stuffy nose, but her overall schedule and personality haven’t been disrupted. She’s a sweets, even when she is sick.
